{"id":4285,"date":"2015-07-01T14:33:55","date_gmt":"2015-07-01T14:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wolverhamptonlabour.com\/?p=4285"},"modified":"2015-07-01T14:33:55","modified_gmt":"2015-07-01T14:33:55","slug":"citys-first-visitor-week-gets-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wolverhamptonlabour.com\/news\/citys-first-visitor-week-gets-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"City\u2019s first Visitor Week gets underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>An exciting programme of events for people living, visiting, working or doing business in Wolverhampton gets underway on Friday (3 July, 2015).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wolverhamptonlabour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/visitorweek.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"visitorweek\" src=\"https:\/\/wolverhamptonlabour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/visitorweek.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"101\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first Wolverhampton Visitor Week is a great opportunity for people to discover what the city has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>It begins with the Junction Festival, the annual three-day festival of art and music from Friday to Sunday (3 to 5 July) which showcases local talent at venues in and around the Chapel Ash area of Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n<p>Other attractions include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday 4 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Free family event at Bantock House Museum and Park showcasing a range of vintage vehicles, 10am-4.30pm<\/li>\n<li>Craftplay, creative play for children aged up to seven<\/li>\n<li>Free opportunity for children to try out a range of activities at WV Active Bilston-Bert Williams (2pm-4pm) and WV Active Aldersley (10am-3pm) leisure centres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sunday 5 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antiques and Collectors Fair at Bantock House Museum and Park, 10am-3.30pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> Monday 6 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Free tour of Light House Cinema<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tuesday 7 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Skills and Employment Fair, 4 Mercian Army Reserve Centre, Wolseley House, Fallings Park, noon-6pm<\/li>\n<li>Free tour of Wolverhampton City Archives\u2019 Molineux Hotel building (also Wednesday and Thursday)<\/li>\n<li>French Language Caf\u00e9: Cuisine de Ma Mere, Newhampton Arts Centre, 6.30pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wednesday 8 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Musical celebration performed by local school children, Queen Square, 11.30am-12.30pm<\/li>\n<li>Queen&#8217;s English Language Caf\u00e9: Poetry Evening, Light House Media Centre, 6.30pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Thursday 9 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Free guided tour of Bantock House Museum<\/li>\n<li>Italian Language Caf\u00e9: Italian Culture Evening, Light House Media Centre, 6.30pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Friday 10 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Careers in the Service Sector, free event for anyone looking for work in the service industry, City of Wolverhampton College, 10am-2pm<\/li>\n<li>Yarn Bombing Display, Bilston High Street, 10am<\/li>\n<li>Disabled and Able Bodied Society Disco, Civic Hall, 6pm<\/li>\n<li>Cosplay, Pop Art in Space-themed event for 14 to 25-year-olds at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, 6pm-9pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday 11 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>City of Wolverhampton Show, Wolverhampton Racecourse, 11am-6pm, including the country music festival Wolvestock, monster trucks and motorcycle display teams, fun fairs and contemporary circus shows by NofitState<\/li>\n<li>Scifest Coin Creator &#8211; families are invited to have a go at making their own money at Wolverhampton Art Gallery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> Sunday 12 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>City of Wolverhampton Show, Wolverhampton Racecourse, 11am-6pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nicholas Pitt, Centre Director at DTZ\/Mander Centre and a member of Wolverhampton Economic Growth Board, said: \u201cVisitor Week showcases what a great city Wolverhampton is for everybody who lives here, work here and visit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Visitor Week programme demonstrates just how much is on offer.
