And the first of these council homes is due to be completed in September.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Councillor Peter Bilson said: \u201cIt is extremely exciting to see this hugely important scheme take shape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of our key aims to regenerate the city is to increase the number of decent and affordable homes that are available in Wolverhampton and this scheme certainly helps us achieve that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are now looking forward to seeing these properties completed and occupied later this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Pat McFadden, MP for Wolverhampton South East, said: \u201cThere is a need for more affordable good quality housing in Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cThis excellent new development is the first new council housing to be built in Wolverhampton for many years and will be one step towards addressing the shortage we face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The progress was also welcomed by Chris King, Managing Director of Kier Partnership Homes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is anticipated that all 40 council properties will be completed by spring 2015 with the whole scheme completed in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A scheme to build Wolverhampton\u2019s first new council houses for 30 years sees the first homes almost complete.
