Kaspa’s Desserts has become the latest business to sign up as a tenant of the multi-million pound i10 office and retail development.

The dessert house chain has agreed a deal to take over two units to house its 31st UK branch.

It will employ ten to 12 people, with the aim to open in mid-April.

The new showpiece i10 building next to the train station was completed in December and forms part of the city’s £120 million Interchange plans.

Superdrug became the first tenant to opens its doors for business earlier this month and Greene King will open its new Hungry Horse family-friendly pub restaurant – The Sunbeam – on March 30. The retail units on the ground floor sit under three floors of top grade office space.

Kaspa’s Desserts offer the world’s favourite hot and cold desserts under one roof – boasting irresistible gelatos, waffles, crepes, milkshakes, smoothies and sundaes.

Bali Dhanjal, Kaspa’s Manager, said: “We are really excited about opening for business in Wolverhampton.  The council has provided great support to us and we are looking forward to establishing ourselves in the city centre. We hope the people of Wolverhampton like what we have to offer.”

City of Wolverhampton Council is also in advanced negotiations over another unit, while the final retail unit will be marketed later this year.

Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy, added: “Kaspa’s is another exciting addition to i10, which is filling up quickly. It brings something different to Wolverhampton and I’m sure will prove a popular place to visit for people heading into the city. On top of that, Kaspa’s offers further employment opportunities for local people.”

As well as encouraging more investment and boosting jobs and prosperity in the city, i10 is part of the gateway to the city for people arriving off the national rail network, by bus or Metro.

Wider development will see work start on the extension of the railway station car imminently. A major new railway station and relocation of the Metro stop will follow, while the new bus station is already in use and the new Wolverhampton Coach Link is expected to be completed in April.
