As a Labour council that supports local businesses and our thriving night-time economy, we’re proud to announce a new parking offer to help Wolverhampton’s city centre flourish after dark.
Free parking at Broad Street car park from 5pm to 5am starts today – just in time for the busy autumn and festive season.
Councillor Chris Burden, Cabinet Member for City Development, Jobs and Skills, and Labour Councillor for Fallings Park said: “We engaged with businesses, workers and residents, and I hope local people take up this offer and come and support our fantastic night-time businesses.”
From January 5, we’ll introduce a flat £2 evening rate – still a big saving – to keep supporting footfall and local jobs.
This pilot is part of our new City Centre Evening and Night-time Economy Strategy, shaped by public feedback and designed to make Wolverhampton more vibrant, welcoming and accessible.
“It will help drive footfall during what is a challenging time and critical trading period for the hospitality sector.”
We’re listening, working hard and taking action to drive footfall, support jobs, and back our entertainment and night time economy.
