Creating a Brighter Future for Wolverhampton – Jobs, Skills & Opportunity…

Jobs and skills are a key priority for the Wolverhampton Labour Group. As a council, we’re determined to give people in our city the best chances possible – through apprenticeships, helping residents into work, and supporting them to gain new skills and qualifications that build a better future.

National Apprenticeship Week (taking place February 9th-15th) is the perfect chance for residents to drop in, get advice, and see how an apprenticeship could kickstart a new career. Apprenticeships offer real routes into work, recognised qualifications and long‑term career opportunities and we want as many local people as possible to benefit.

Drop in and chat to an array of training providers being hosted by our brilliant Wolves at Work team at their i10 employment hub – at the heart of the city centre transport Interchange – on Victoria Square (WV1 1LD), between 10am and 2pm on Thursday, February 12.

They will be providing free advice to residents who are looking for apprenticeship opportunities.

The theme of National Apprenticeship Week 2026 is ‘Skills for Life’ with the aim to help apprentices develop career pathways and secure permanent positions.

Our Apprenticeships team will also be in the Civic Centre foyer area (WV1 1SH) on Wednesday, February 11, from 9.30am to 2pm, to offer guidance and support to Wolverhampton residents looking to apply for work experience or apprenticeship opportunities.

There are hundreds of types of apprenticeships on offer at different levels with employers in Wolverhampton.

Whether you’re starting out, starting again, or looking to grow your skills, this is your chance to take the next step.
